Call for Abstracts Submission - Due Midnight AEST Friday 2nd August 2024
We invite you to submit an abstract to be considered for presentation at the upcoming 2024 ASSCR Annual Meeting.
“Stem Cell Research from Roots to Remedies”
Your abstract must be in the format of: AIMS, METHODS, RESULTS & CONCLUSION.
Abstracts can be submitted under the following themes, but are not limited to the list:
Modelling Developmental Biology
Adult Stem cells and Regeneration
Epigenetics and Stem Cells
Stem Cells and Society
New Technologies
Systems biology
Stem Cells and Disease
Abstracts are limited to 300 words.
Please submit you abstract by Midnight AEST Friday 2nd August 2024.

CONFERENCE TRAVEL AWARDS AND PRIZES
Applicants can apply for ASSCR membership now or during the abstract submission process.
To be considered for a travel grant, all applicants must complete the applicable questions with their abstract submission and seek approval from your supervisor by 5pm on 2nd August 2024. For more information please see the ASSCR Travel and Award Guidelines document.
Abstracts will be peer reviewed and ranked to select the travel award recipients.
Please complete all sections of the form and provide signature from both the applicant and supervisor.
Please note that all presenting authors must be registered to able to present at the ASSCR 2024 Annual Meeting.
Important Dates
2nd April 2024: Call for Abstracts + Registration opens
2nd August 2024: Abstract submission cut-off date
27th September 2024: Early bird registration closes
Monday 11-13 November 2024: ASSCR 2024 Annual Meeting
Abstract Submission Process
Authors will receive acknowledgement of receipt of abstract submission, and notification of review outcome will be made according to stated key dates.
All abstracts must be submitted in accordance with guidelines outlined in this document, and must be accompanied by the author information form provided. Abstracts not submitted in accordance with guidelines will not be accepted.

Guidelines for Online Submission and Conditions
The submitting author needs to create an account and then enter their contact details. Enter your email address and remember your password as this will be the same submission process to enter your registration.
Step 1: Create New Account
You will be asked for:
Email Address and a Password and ENTER create new account.
NB Once these details have been logged into the system you can upload multiple abstract drafts and/or clinical grand round case presentations.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
This page will take you through the process of submitting your abstract.
Each of the tabs on the left hand side of the page will bring up a step in the submission process that needs to be completed. If you see a X against an orange step, it means it is yet to be completed.
At any time in the process you can click the Save As Draft button to save your incomplete submission and return to it at a later time.
The Review section will give you an overview of the sections that are still required to be completed before you can submit your abstract.
Once all required sections have been completed, you can submit your abstract.
Step 2: Abstract Title and Presentation Type
Enter Abstract title in Title Case (not upper case) – Word limit: 50.
Select your Presentation Type:
Oral or poster presentation
Poster only
Enter Continue (or Save As Draft)
Step 3: Themes and Category
Select one theme from the list below:

Enter all author affiliations initially and then add the authors and select the appropriate affiliation - e.g. Department of XX, University of Adelaide, Adelaide, Australia

6.1 CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Nominate whether there is a real or perceived conflict of interest with the abstract. If so, nominate reason.
1. a significant financial interest in a product to be discussed directly or indirectly during the presentation,
2. being or having been an employee of a company with such a financial interest,
3. having had substantial research support provided by an industry to support the product to be discussed at the presentation

The National Stem Cell Foundation of Australia (NSCFA) together with the ASSCR is generously sponsoring a large number of Postgraduate students and early career researcher (ECRs) to attend and present their research at the 2024 Annual meeting. ASSCR Travel and Prize Award Guidelines
Conference Travel Awards and Prizes available for Postgraduate students and ECRs
The National Stem Cell Foundation of Australia (NSCFA) together with the ASSCR is generously sponsoring a large number of Postgraduate students and early career researcher (ECRs) to attend and present their research at the 2024 Annual meeting. ASSCR will also provide two conference travel awards for Postgraduate students and ECRs from New Zealand institutions. These Awards will contribute to the cost of attending the meeting (full registration fee and an average airfare cost based on the geographical location of awardees).
Eligibility
To be eligible, Postgraduate students and ECRs from Australia and New Zealand must be current members of ASSCR and submit an abstract by 2nd August 2024, regardless of requests for oral or poster presentations as all abstracts will be peer reviewed.
NOTE: Prior recipients of ASSCR conference travel award are eligible to apply, but priority will be given to those not awarded last year.
NOTE: ECR is defined as someone who is within 6 years of the award of the PhD (PhD awarded on or after 2nd August 2018 and will take into consideration career disruption as defined by NHMRC guidelines).

Notification and Award Conditions
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of travel award applications at the time of abstract acceptance. Awardees must acknowledge the support of the NSCFA and ASSCR on their oral and poster presentations. A logo and acknowledgement slide will be emailed to all awardees. Successful applicants may also be contacted to provide photographs and/or testimonials. All awardees are expected to attend for the duration of the conference including the closing ceremony.
Best Oral and Poster Presentation Prizes
There will also be Prizes for the best oral and poster presentations by Postgraduate students and ECRs. These will be determined by a team of oral and poster presentation judges and will be announced in the final session of the conference. If you wish to be considered for these Prizes, please tick the appropriate box in the application form.
